The difference between the welding flange and flat welding flange
The butt welding flange is actually the interface end and the pipe to be welded,whether it is the size of the pipe diameter or the wall thickness of the pipe,it must be completely consistent,that is,the direct welding of the two pipes.The interface of the flat welding flange is different from the butt welding flange.The interface of the flat welding flange is generally processed with a concave table that is a little larger than the outer diameter of the pipe to be connected.When welding with the pipe, it is required. From the point of view of the welding process,the welding performance of the welding flange is better than that of the flat welding,and the corrosion of the welding flange is relatively small. But it is not absolute, but from the overall understanding, flat welding is much simpler than butt welding.
From the point of view of use, there are many flat welding flanges in low and medium pressure pipelines, and many welding flanges are used in the connection of medium and high pressure pipelines. Under high pressure, welding with a butt flange is mainly to reduce stress concentration. From the point of view of the installation cost of the flange, it is of course complicated and higher. When the welding flange is installed, it is higher than the flat welding flange in terms of cost and auxiliary materials.
