Haihao Group uses large-caliber wind power flange to power the pipeline system
Amidst the festive atmosphere of the National Day, great news echoes by the shores of Chagan Lake. As of October 1st, China Petroleum’s first large-scale green electricity self-consumption project—the Jilin Oilfield 150,000-kilowatt photovoltaic and wind power project—has surpassed 200 million kilowatt-hours in cumulative power generation. This achievement has not only reduced the production costs of the oilfield by approximately 80 million yuan but has also accelerated the clean energy transition, marking a remarkable milestone in the transformation of traditional oil and gas field enterprises toward green and low-carbon development.
Embarking on the journey into the renewable energy sector, Jilin Oilfield seized the opportunity presented by Jilin Province’s “Onshore Wind Three Gorges” project. Leveraging its abundant wind and solar resources, coupled with significant advantages such as land mining rights and operational expertise, Jilin Oilfield expedited the construction initiation of wind and photovoltaic new energy projects. The aim is to vigorously construct a new paradigm characterized by green, low-carbon, and clean energy substitution with mutual complementarity.
It is noteworthy that Jilin Oilfield, within the entire scope of China Petroleum, took the lead in initiating the 150,000-kilowatt photovoltaic and wind power project. The project comprises 78,000 kilowatts of wind power and 71,000 kilowatts of photovoltaic power, generating 360 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity annually. This leads to the saving of 110,900 tons of standard coal and a reduction in carbon emissions by 282,000 tons. All the electricity generated is self-consumed for the oil and gas production needs of Jilin Oilfield, achieving a clean substitution for one-fourth of the oilfield’s electricity consumption.
In April 2022, the Jilin Oilfield 150,000-kilowatt photovoltaic and wind power project commenced in full swing. By September of the same year, the project entered the on-site construction phase. In March of the current year, the project achieved full production and grid-connected operation.
